Timbers and Beams
At OWLC, we specialize in custom full-sawn timbers and beams made from Douglas Fir (DF). We can cut lengths of up to 24 feet, and special orders can reach up to 40 feet. The logs we select for our beams come from tight-grain, first- and second-growth timber sourced locally from.
Douglas Fir is a dense, and durable wood, with a reputation for being stronger than cement. These trees grow straight and tall, often exceeding 250 feet in height and 10 feet in diameter.
We commonly offer three beam grades: - #1 - #2 Appearance Grade - #2 Heart Center.
Pricing is based on board footage in even-length increments.

Full Dimension Lumber
Our lumber yard is filled with Full Dimension Lumber from Douglas Fir and Incense Cedar. We stock 1” and 2” thickness, and 4”, 6”, 8” and 12” widths. 4x4s, 6x6s and 8x8s are common on hand post and beam sizes in a range of grades. We also have various over-runs of none stock sizes.
And, of course, if we don’t have it, we can cut it.

LIVE EDGE SLABS
We Slab our wood from whole logs to preserve the live edge of the log. They are cut in 2in., 3in. and 4in. thicknesses and are slowly dried in covered sheds for many months (years!) to minimize cupping, warping and checking. We even have a selection of 6”+ mantles!
We have a large inventory of slabs in stock. We offer various species, specializing in Walnut, Madrone, Redwood, and various other hardwoods. If possible, we recommend you stop by in person to find the perfect slab for your project!

Siding
SIDING
Shiplap siding is an old fashioned vertical siding. It is commonly cut full sawn 1” thick and 8”-12” widths out of Sugar Pine and Cedar. The board has a rabbit cut out on each side allowing each board to overlap and cover the gap to the last board.
Board N Batten or Batten Board siding is very common siding on historic homesteads, ranches and farms across the U.S. It is ran vertically board to board and the batten is nailed covering the gap between the vertical ran boards. Board n Batten is sawn mostly in the Pacific Northwest from Cedar and Sugar Pine at a full 1” thick 12” wide Board with the Batten 1” thick and 3”-4” wide.

PANELING
TONGUE AND GROOVE PANELING
We stock various species and sizes of Tongue and Groove Paneling. We mostly carry Incense Cedar and Sugar Pine. We can also custom match some historic knife cuts and sizes. One specialty paneling we produce is older grey wood that has been resized with a tongue and groove.
Most of the Pine paneling stocked is ¾” thick with widths of 3”, 5” & 7” rough sawn in mixed Blue, Bright and Buggy. When installed makes for a rustic look.
